Do the Chiltons manuals have color coded wire schematics?
I already have the Haynes. Is it worth buying the Chilton's too?

In my own opinion...Chilton's leave alot to be desired.. I just don't find them near as informative as asking Don ....rofl

Yes the top two books do have wire schematics with the color coded wires listed. as said above the top of each book. But not in Color schematics pic's "black and white" there at the back of the book
Oh the Haynes" third book". I listed is the same as the second book that texasredneck listed but they are tow different addition of the same book. One's early and one later.

I hope this thread is still alive,...lol. Whatever happened to Motor Manual ( The Big BLUE book )? I used to have one for every project vehicle I ever owned, are they still in business? Guess I will have to go and look for myself. Chilton's and Haynes can't hold a match to Motor..... Just my opinion

Yes if you know any good books that may help some one new to the trucks or some that old to the trucks that needs some info or some kinda tech. List it, the one you are talking about. I not sure I know them or maybe not that name . So if they can be had or where. The one's I listed are the most easy to pick up and still in print, just have to go to one of the car parts places or book store. The more that are listed the more Info out there for all.

Helm's used to produce Motor Manual BOOKS, they were located in Detroit, Michigan.......but they said they don't have any that old anymore.

Texasred I think the book you have in the picture is from Helm. I bought a set of similiar books like what bowtiefreak383 has pictured from Helm a few years back for around $60 plus shipping. I had to wait til they ran them through the printer again but I got them a month or so later. For the record they make haynes and chilton books seem like crap in every aspect. The old Motor Manual books didn't compare well either. The only problem with them is they are year specific.
