i have a 4.3L vortec in a 1995 s-10 blazer...
anyone have expirence with these engines

awesome,.,,ok heres the problem...... background first 1995 s-10 4x4 4-door auto 235,000 km's just replaced the injection system new plugs, cap and rotor, k&n air filter, flowmaster exhaust timing done it is idling very very iradically almost stalling, but runs good when driving. the big thing is it dosen't do it all the time, and doesen't show a code. check engine light is on but not blinking.have taken it in to a garage, but not a GM shop cause i dont have the money for $95 an hour labour. the garage put it on the computer, says my truck loses the data link and won't communicate with the reader. my dad whose been a shadetree mechanic for about 35 years thinks it is the throttle positioning sensor but he is only going by my word discription cause he is 7000 km's away any ideas?

The main reason for a data link problem is a bad ECM or computer. I think you may have an issue with that.
I haven't seen a TPS go bad on the 4.3L
One more thing to check... Pull the EGR valve off, and see if there is a chunk of corbon holding the pintle open. This happens sometimes, and can cause an eratic idle.

4.3 L v6 vortec have problem with the intake gaskets leaking in the oil valley killing the motor . ( at rear ) just a tip keep eye on them and at 200,000 check them. seen a lot of them dead . over heating or coolant to old . Pontiac1976
