Well, this truck has been doing an awesome job keeping up with my mileage. Although I no longer use it for delivery, I have been taking it just about everywhere. 2000 miles in one month's time is a lot even for me. Anyhow, last night I noticed the temp gauge was actually reading >210 degrees, so when I finally made it home I started looking at the belt and for leaks. Nothing. When I opened the radiator cap, it's about 1/4 full. Now, the last time I checked the coolant level was a month ago before my first 500 mile trip. I figured that since no coolant appeared to be leaking after I changed the radiator, the leak was gone. Apparently not so. Where should I start looking? When I first purchased the truck, I could constantly smell coolant in the cab, and occassionally saw drips coming from the heater inside the cab. Is it probable that my heater core is totally shot? I dont get much if any heat from that thing, and need to have it replaced anyways. Is it a pain in the ass to do these heater cores when it has A/C? The instructions in the Chilton's make no sense what so ever, so I am considering having a garage do it. Wonder how much they'd charge.. Anything else I should look at next first?

Try plugging yourwater pump outlet to the core, and run the other core hose directly into your intake. that way you will know if it is your core or not.
