Hey guys I have a 1980 Chevy C-10 and I just installed bucket seats and I am wanting to build a console that I can also use as a speaker box to fill in the empty space. I have never built a speaker box before and was wandering what kind of wood I should use? How big does it need to be to house 2 10" sub woofers? Does there need to be any holes in the box?

I recomend the press board that furnature is usually made out of, it's about $16 a sheet at home depot. I would build the box as large as you can and i would opt for one 12inch rather then 2, 10's, it will be deeper and you wont need as much amp. I would build a sealed box and actually caulk the inside of it so that it doesn't whisle on you.

Different speaker require different air space. You can port them or seal them read the box that they come in. It will tell you the amount of air space needed sealed or ported cause it will be different. Let me know how it goes cause I want to do something like that.
