I do not have any 350 Trans around right now to get pic's .The little hook like S or L clips to the trans ( on the right side looking at it if it was in the truck in your pic it has a red cap on it. There a little hole in little steel rod or clip if you want to call it that ). Now you might have to get a trans cable for the top part of the cable on the intakemanifold try to see if your throttle bracket has it built in most likely not.should not be to hard to find a two or 4 bbl bracket what ever carb you got. junk yard. look sometihing like this for a 4 bbl carb

In you pictyre pontiac1976, I see a spring hooked to alternator to the carb. What is the purpose, and is it factory? I found one installed on my 350 in the same manner. It was really hard to maintain pedal pressure, to keep me at a constant speed. I have the Quadrajunk carb? thanks in advance for info........Larry

Ok that a pic of A Pontiac motor the carb is Quadrajet But the spring is not "factory" . This a after market unversal replacement . This pic one I have used show the question that was asked to it's listing.
The spring should be duel springs and be shorter attached to the carb throttle linkage & to the part of the bracket that the arrows at. Now the harder the spring the stiffer the gas peddle will fell or the longer you stretch the springs. As I like a frim gas peddle I like a little restince. some ppl like it to be very soft. use light springs or longer springs with lighter restince for that soft peddle like the pic. Since your is set up as this pic and is hard get new springs or try to shorten the hook up, or get a spring with less restince. There lots of ways to do it. But if you want it to look stock then run stock springs, I use most of the time stock duels but strech them a bit more if I can hook them some where close to stoke place just to make them a little harder fell on the peddle. You should see the little holes that the spring go in.
Getting spring GM dealer , E-bay, a good parts place that know!, junk yard on GM 4BBL carb if there , swap meet.
lol : Oh these pic was used for that very Question by me once before the purple line is where the spring goes.
