>:(I have an 85 chevy silverado that I have restored, and I live in North Dakota, so since it is only two wheel drive I can only drive it about 3-4 months out of year. I started it up today and she fired right up but when I shifted into reverse nothing. I tried drive, 2nd and 1st gear NOTHING. I installed a LOKAR floor shifter about 3 years ago and the linkage looks fine. Has anyone heard of anything like this. Fluid levels and vacum lines look fine. Any Ideas please let me know.

The seals may have hardened up due to sitting for so long.
Fire it up and let it idle in Park for a little while. It might help get the seals in the tranny to soften up and decide to work again...

No problem at all.
It IS however an early warning sign....
I have had AWESOME success with Lucas transmission treatment. It softens up the seals, and conditions the fluid. It made my wife poor old van shift like new.
