How come the tach custer wont work in your 87? If it dosent have a amp meter or a manual oil pressure gauge, it should work.... I have a 73-74 tach cluster and Im using an 87 wire harness, everything works great! I have been warned that an amp meter will cause a melt down. however most everything else should work. if you are having problems with the electronic speedo. I believe that you can retrofit your cluster case to fit what ever speedo you need. Anybody else want to share here? I could be right - Could be worng I just know that mine works! Oh ya..... make sure the tach works!!! and that it is a V/8 verision and not a 6...... Very expensive to reubild !!! I know!

I believe the Tach for 73-74 are set up in side "wiring" for Points only will not work on 75-87 HEI . but maybe you can get it rewired. might coat $$$ So it might be easier find a 76-87 trade or buy.
and I thought the 73,74,75 cluster came with AMP gauge not the Volts would be 76-80, 81-87 should be pic of a batt for the gauge # above.

Here is a great link for Chevy tach clusters: www.73-87.com/7387garage/interior/factory%20tachometers.htmThose instrument clusters are a lot more different than you think from year to year. The 73/74s have a wet oil pressure gauger and the amp meter. I personally would keep checking on ebay for one that is made for your year model of truck and keep in mind most of them don't know exactly what they are selling. I almost forgot, that cluster you have is newer than a 1974, maybe late 70s.

That is probably a Canadian Gauge Cluster (Kilometers per Hour). That is the only picture I could find of a later model Tach Cluster. 140mph would be nice though!!!
