Newbie to site but not Chevy Trucks

Hi, My name is Derrick and I live in Newfoundland, Canada.
I just recently moved back here from Calgary, Alberta where I purchased a 1986 GMC Wrangler, I had the engine totally rebuilt in it so far( did that in Calgary to be sure I would make the 6000 Km journey,lol, plus it was cheaper to get it done there) I started last week to disasemble the truck to begin restoration, My first question is what is the 8 all about on the cowl behind the fender, and can I upload pics to this site
