I own a 1976 chevy 3/4ton 4x4. The truck is totally stock and i'm trying to restore it. It says bonanza20 on the upper front fenders. My question is do you know anything about this model. I see bonanza half tons but i cant seem to find any information about a 3/4ton. Also it has the original seat in it which has a tear and since i have never seen another one like it i dont know where to get a replacement for it. It is two tone vinyl in the middle (burgandy and white, with burgandy velour where you sit. I bought it from the original owner with 82,000 miles on it and it has only seen factory gm parts its whole life. It is all there complete..down to the original spare and factory jack. I'm almost positive its all original since the original owner made me sign a form that says i wouldnt turn it into a fourwheeling truck, i would only use premium gas and clean it every week... it felt like i was buying his only child from him...(he was a little out there, to say the least...*wink*) I appreciate any info you can give me and/or any links in which i may find information on it.
Thank you,

Welcome to the site, it sounds like you have a rare bird there. "Other promotional packages offered were the Chevy "Bonanza", the "Outdoorsman", and the GMC Jimmy "Gentleman Jim". The Bonanza had Bonanza emblems on the front fenders. It was a sales incentive program of some sort. The Outdoorsman was also a sales incentive program that offered buyers hunting, fishing, and camping equipment, when they bought a Chevy truck. Outdoorsman trucks had the Outdoorsman decal on the rear of the bed on each side. The GMC Gentleman Jim was black and silver, had gold interior and exterior trim, a gold grille, and bucket seats. Another very rare model was the 1976 - 77 Balzer Chalet. The GMC model equivalent offered was the 1976 "Jimmy Casa Grande". This was a GMC Jimmy, with a camper cap over the back. It had a pop up top that gave 6'7" of head room. The cab allowed easy access to the camper. The camper was designed to sleep two. There were optional overhead bunks to sleep four. The camper was equipped with an LP gas stove, and a refrigerator too. Somewhere between 83 and 85, there was a Sno Chaser model offered. The Sno Chaser had a cab spoiler mounted on the bed behind the cab, and decals on the rear bedsides saying "Sno Chaser". These were all unique models that collectors should look for. They all had very low production numbers, some lower than others." This was taken from a page that I found with a Google search for "chevy bonanza 20" Here's the link for you to visit, there's good detail on some of these rare models there... www.chuckschevytruckpages.com/models.html
