Well, I had my front end aligned today, the good news is everything is like new, everything is also original too. The bad news is; the guy that done the alignment ran over right front beauty ring and destroyed it, he brought it up front amd told his boss that it looks like a cheap K-Mart ring ( aftermarket ) I turned it over and showed him the GM logo. They said when they find one they will call me to come get it, I am NOT accepting any Plastic, lead painted Chinese aftermarket beauty ring, and I told them that too. So I will probably have to find my own, pay for it and get reimbursed by the shop. Are they still available, if so, how much do they cost? I have the silver rallye wheels 15".

Very Kool to here the every thing looks good. Wow to bad I feel for you I had something like that on my 76Pontiac that why when I got to a place to have work I take off all the center caps and trim rings keep them in a safe place at home. But back to you Not sure but if you go to the dealer get them to look up your year first then try 87 I think 81-87 are close but not dead match, scrap yard, E-bay or maybe this place .= well I had a place that had or restored wheels and hub caps, but I can't find the link right now try to find it for you.

All 4 did not match anyway, one pair matched each other and another pair matched. I think former owner must have lost one ring and replaced with pair of different GM rings. But they matched other side really close ya couldn't tell, unless you knew what you were looking at. My friend has 25- 3" deep beauty Rings for 1954 Buicks, they are all the same type and are like new 15". He said I can have four for free if they work. Another Question, the same friend has two brand new P235/70R/15 tires that he took off of his 1996 caprice Classic, will they work on my truck? He said I can have them free, if they will work.

Well the size will work on most 15 " rim's trucks But P stands for passenger tire you will have to see what load rating they go up to! Oh LT light truck.
most of the light trucks med duty trucks came with the higher load rating 235 passenger tires . if your just using it as a driver not putting any weight in the the truck IF THEY HANDLE THE WEIGHT OF YOUR TRUCK + YOUR WEIGHT x 2 or (800)AND ABOUT 300 POUNDS OF GAS then there OK there math add 4 tires min weight they say all ways make sure your have i.e. 600 -800 more then you will ever need, if your going to carry 500 pounds then 800 -1200 more then trucks weight + driver & passenger and full tank gas . you want tire for light trucks and heavy cars so the witch most do not sell any more so you have to look the weight the tire will hold x2 if your only getting two for the truck they should be the same tires to get the right weight then check the other two add the 4 to see if it will hold the weight of the truck. A new tire may if not rate high enough load will hold if close but will blow on you any time ! as you put miles on it and more weight or sun heats it up eats at it. rubber does not like sunlight if you over work the tire it will fail sooner . There is extra load tires to they say that on the side Here another i.e. my trucks weights 5200 lbs my trailer 1500lbs my heavies car that I will be on the trailer will be 4200lbs . I use the extra load tires on the rear reg tire on the front but the two front tires have to be able to handle the front half of the truck + weight then add the rear tires then add the 4 to see if the 4 tires can safely hold the weight + over the whole set up. witch mine do 800 - 1000 passed the weight. but I all so have three set of rims for my trucks when I was drive in the winter I would put a little less of a tire because I do not carry over 500 lbs and I do not use the trailer in the winter. Now I think you said you had C or D load tires on that might be a little over kill for just driving around truck shows store with only about 200 lb loads. Because I think your truck was set up for pulling heavy loads. So check your VIN tag to see what your truck weight is and what it will carry then check your tires do the math on your tires see what it set to carry then check the tires your looking at do math on them see if there OK for your set up now this has to work with the truck springs and axles if you put extra heavy load tires but your truck spring will not take the weight the tire will not help you loosing control. any way there was a list of what tires marking on the side wall there there to help you pick and choose the right tire for you and the type on load and driving set it up for "SAFELY" oh every tire company different that why there so much info on a tire to help if you use it to help you.
I sorry this was a little long winded

That's okay, no posting can ever be over winded. Alot of info was given in your post. My truck is 6200 Gvw, and originally came with J - 78 load range "C" tires. J78's translate into 235/75R/15's, but previous owner switched to, 235/75R/15's load range "D". for hauling 7,000 lb. 5th. wheel. I now have original 3.08 rear gears back, and am not contemplating hauling much more than ass. Maybe short trip firewood load once in a while. I weigh in at 230lbs.
