I was told that the rear disc brake off a late 70's to mid 80's cadillac might fit my truck rear end [ 12 bolt ] I dont know do any of you have an idea I would be thankful for any help.

Well the 70 Cadillac should have 5x5 rear wheel drive bolt pattern, it s quit possable it will work. You will need to grab all the E-brake stuff and all the brackets everthing from the backing plate to the front of the lug bolts.The big one might be any weld on brackets. make sure you get the right year type car and mark it down. take all the plarts that look to bad to Parts shop get new replacement parts or rebuilt. I have not did it but you have to do the above.

96 impala ss has 5 on5 bolt pattrn and also has disc brakes that bolt to the axle

I beleive you will or on reg impala with police package cars of that stlye.(most taxi's of those yr's)
