hi , i have a question about the thermostat. i have read the explanation about the thermostst in a former topic here but i don't understand it too well.. i am still building my engine, it's a 350ci 5.7L V8 from 1975.i know that there are differend kinds of thermostats. which one do i need to buy? here in Belgium europe we have more rain than sun in a year but in winter we only have like 2 weeks of frost, the rest is rain, summer can be hot or weeks with rain, the winter period starts usualy in januari and it ends in april.the truck will not be a daily driver, andwhen driven i guess the distances will be like 100-300 km...it has AC , performance headers, 2BBL carb, drives on gas and LPG. i hope this info can make things clear about the thermostat...?

Well 180 would be a good start If you do not drive it in the cold Weeks's then the heat in the Cab will not matter then. If you think it running a bit hot on the motor you can get a 160 stat. The higher the number is the longer the water is keep-ed( or rad fluid ) in the block. To that temp then opens up to let the fluid out to the rad to cool a bit.
