I think u can order a diff. bracket. Are you using the big comp that is used on the 75 motor or using the little one that was used on the 81 and up motors. I am not sure you might have to use the littler comp. I don't beleive it has a bracket that bolts on with the manifold. I am not 100% sure. I know pontiac1976 will know he is a genuis.

it's the little compressor that i use (it is a 87 airconditioning setup).there must be a way , there are enough people drivin' around with headers and also have airconditioning, no?

I used the original bracket with mine. The factory manifold bolt hole comes out farther from the head, and I think the headers have a 3/8" flange, so I used original hardware and bracket with a spacer. I'll try to post a pic later.

Well some of those will work depending on how you set up is going to be routed yes you can buy bracket from them or summit, junkyard for stock brackets. Some of the stock bracket need spacer or longer bolts or studs even short bolts some times. I have a freind that got some bracket for a 81-87 small compressor. You would need the big A\c bracket for the left side of motor the one that goes to the power steering pump maybe the power steering pump bracket if your not the same as the one that goes with the A\c bracket. Alt, you would not need un less you are moving the alt. to a different place. So the big thing is Are you trying to set it up like a factory 81-87 A\c set up or after market set up, the bracket from Jegs will most like work but . You still have to know what you want it set up like. Do you have any pic's of your motor .?? And the power steering brackets. Are you trying to keep a stockish look to the set up, or are you trying for a custom look. There is this site www.marchperf.com/ that has high dollar stuff but will show you some set ups .

hi pontiac, i have the 1987 airconditioning setup, my alternator with bracket is on the passenger side and the '87 small radial compressor is on the drivers side. i want to keep everything stock looking; only new headers. i had the powersteering pump and bracket on my 1975 engine when i bought my 1980 truck, but i did not have airconditioning in the truck so i bought everything second hand from someone in the states because i want to go stock looking(no aftermarket airconditioning kit for me ) included was a stock bracket for the compressor. here are some pictures , maybe about the airco brackets, could you tell me where they are supposed to be mounted??here goes: steering pump and brackets: alternator brackets: airconditioning brackets: ? ? ? ? here they are, thanks for looking

Well the first A\c bracket goes the side of the front of the head: ie exausht . the second one I bet goesto the front of the head above the power sterring pump. the third is a brace that goes on the intake to the back of the compresssure pump, or from there to the fender. The forth is on the front side of the pump, but not sure you need it ,you will have to see bye setting it up to see. I try to get some pic's this weekend . Oh what year did the guy say the bracket were off & motor where they on. Was this the factory set up that it came with or did some one take it off some thing eles. This might give you a Idea where you goes go to the play see the angles of the A\c pump. [a href=" The second one.www.marchperf.com/pg61.html"] The second one.www.marchperf.com/pg61.html[/a]

the A/C brackets were a 1987 set up, came from a pick up with a 350 engine. All factory setup.

i have been busy mounting all the pieces on my engine today;
originally the steering pump was on the driversside,in front of the engine but mounted high, like near the valve covers. now, because i am putting on the a/c setup, the compressor takes in that place and the steering pump has to be mounted lower, still on the driversside in front of the engine but like near the timing chain cover.
to be able to do that i am going to need other brackets for my steering pump, does anybody now where i can find those?check out my earlier pics to see what i have now.

when i follow the pictures i have put on here that show my A/C brackets, i have done the following: the first one i haven't installed yet because i am putting on performance headers and that bracket fitted the original ones,but needs cuttting and modifying to fit the new ones.so i am letting this one aside for now . the second one i haven't installed yet also ;D , i believe this one is a support bracket that will go on the underside of the steering pump, but since i don't have the fitting bracket for the pump yet , i didn't install the support bracket neither. the third one, the brace , i did install, and like you said pontiac, it goes from the compressor to the intake, fits like a glove the forth bracket is the comressor bracket, it goes in front of the engine,drivers side, mounted high , near the valve covers. in the picture you can see that bracket still has that thing (what do you call it ?) attached to it that you use to lift the engine, its a hole and you can put a hook in it with a chain on to be able to lift the engine up and not damage everything else on the engine. that forth bracket is also connected with the brace. so all i have left is the first bracket but i have found a webpage who sells these brackets that will fit my new headers(read former messsages) so no cutting or adjusting neccesary, only thing i need is the bracket that fits my steering pump who needs to be mounted lower now because of the compressor.
