i have here with me two cleaned fan blades and clutches.they are two different ones.which one should i mount on my engine and why? the first one was originaly on my truck the second one i got from someone and i cleaned it, the blades and the clutch look different, the clutch is heavier . i don't know if it has anyting to do with it but i am planning to get the airco system in my truck which i had n't originally... is there anyone who could explain the difference of these two sets to me? thank you!

I not sure what airco means unless that your talking about A\c ="Air Conditioning" the second one is more better for A\c will help cool a little better. The blades are a little better on the second one for a 5 blade fan I find. The first one is a 305 clutch fan. So depends what you want how hot your truck drives at on ave. I have 7 blade with the 305 clutch. with a 77 454 3 core rad 185 stat 454 shroud on. Because I tow a heavy load. I really like the 6 or 7 blades the best. Well both are not bad and will work with 305 and the 350 . Since your going to have a 350 I would keep the second clutch in the shop until it in the truck. If you have A\c now but not hooked I would use the top one. Oh the other thing how close the stick out from the rad or shroud. The fan should be as close or 1\4" in the lip of the shroud to cool the best. and your shroud should be there and good. I think your top clutch will have a longer shaft witch might be better for your set up but you will have to see putting it in checking. Tip: once you have bolted in the clutch & fan with the motor " no running it should have very little play, to move side to side by holding the blades with both hands on left side and right side. if it moves more than 1/8" it bearing is gone the clutch is shot. or you see oil coming from it . Now the clutch when running at idle should blow OK should feel good air flow with motor warm.If you rev the motor up to around 2000 to 2500 the fan should start to look like it's going slower then the belts that means it working. the clutch fan around 60mph should not blow air it will free wheel. If the clutch free wheels at 1200rpm & lower rpm @ running temper it not working . hope this helps you. by

Oh the spring on the end if your going to paint it do not put heavy coats on it or the front part of the clutch. That what sences the heat for the clutch. by
