hi everyone, if possible, i would like to know a little bit more about the oil cooler. what is it that the oil cooler does and why? i don't have an oil cooler system in my truck, i also don't have airco in my truck, do these two have something to do with each other?if i want one, what do i have to look for(i drive a 1980 small block gmc truck)i have a 305ci 5000L V8 , but i want to buy a 350ci 5700 L in the future. help??

Well if your truck runs hot and you tow or hall long time on highway that a nother way to help cool the oil & motor down a little more. All a oil cooler does is run to a small rad for cooling motor oil back to the oil filter. You may see about 5 to 8 degs temp with a oil cooler but can help with a perlong engine life . not a must for all but really depened on how you feel about it. It was really made for police cars, taxis, towtrucks, heavy and hard used motors mostly. this can really get a lot of talk one way or the other.

Oh I still learn stuff, there always a new trick or somthing old you will find out about. Just try to help out and spread a little info. I guess hands on and age helps lol.
