recently watching gas shuffling from 59.9 -140.0 cents a litre (canada)... i might just beef up the 305 a bit n go from there what do u boys sugest the i do to the low end part of my motor? from the block n downward ( pistons, and crank ) the top ends been redun n mostparts r now 350 on the top end ..... what 350 guts can i fit into the low end ??

Just the rods. Everything else is different including the crank.
I suggest you keep the 305 in tune, and wait for a 350 to come along cheap. You will probably not notice a big increase in fuel consumption by swapping a good tuned 350 under the hood.

well ... that was my original plan ... but with my salary it will take me years to do that ... i was just gonna redo the bottem end so it lasts @ least 5 years then if i still have the truck.... its only gonna b my sunday driver when i have it all resstored
would a 350 outta a 78 vett bolt up to my700r4 tranny ?

well boys its been a while had my share with cops n emission police bout my truck so I'm gonna continue to piss em off can n e one tell me how to make a small block 358 ( if ur wondering what a 358 is .... think nascar )

Correction: 305 and 350 cranks are interchangeable. I have done it. Only the pistons are different. Same 3.48 inch stroke, but 350 has 4 inch bore and 305 has 3.736 inch bore. Powerhouse sells stoker rotating assmeblies for around 800 bucks that will give you a 335. But the guys are right. Your time and money is better spent on a 350.

While the 305 and the 350 cranks are physically interchangeable, they are not balanced the same. The 305 has lighter counterweights due to the lighter pistons.
