ive been looking around for another drive train for my truck not hard but looking but now ive found out my front 10 bolt axle tube on the drivers side has pulled out of the centersection about an 1 in or so instead of fixing it i decided to look for the drive train i wanted... well i found another chevy its a 70 3/4ton that has 4.11 gears which will go perfect for what im wanting to do and being a chevy i should be able to install them with out a problem. i went to look at the truck and the front axle was fine standard eight lug dana 44 but when i went to look at the rear axle i have no clue what it is... its not a 14 bolt like i had expected its a weird looking thing and im just wondering what it is... it looks like a junky a$$ f@#d 9 in housing but it doesnt have a third member instead it has a cover on the rear with 10 bolt holding the cover its a full floater and is an eight lug. does anyone know what this thing is?
