In a few months I will be starting the motor on my blazer. I want a 383, I have a bone stock 350 in it now.I heard that the stock throttle body sucks butt for these motors. Any one know about this at all?

Pretty much true, especially if you are going for performance. I have an 87 R10 with the 350 TBI, and it just doesnt have much power, especially on hills. We have millions of hills around here, and I never can climb them without dropping speed unless I hit the hill head on at > 45 MPH. I think that since it only has 2 holes (forgot the technical term) and 2 injectors, it's just not enough. I'd switch to a 4 bbl any day if it didnt effect emissions, which I guess is retarded in my case since we have no emissions here. But I'd like to keep my options open for moving back home to Tucson, AZ after college. So all in all - just depends on what you are looking for. If it's performance, you wont find it in a TBI. TPI is the way to go there.

A Holley performance replacement TBI unit can be found at Summit racing. They spec out at about 670 cfm, which is better than the flow capability of the stock unit. They are supposed to be a direct bolt on, accepting all OEM wiring and electronics.
The list price in my current Summit catalogue is $350 or so for the V8 engines.
