oh my, what is it always with people and their ripped up seats? the steering foam cover gave the interior a nice touch, didn't it?
how's your interior coming along now?

Well it looks like a 78-80 face bezel, speedo is 1977-or 78 that all I can see right off hand. The face plate might have had the wood trim from factory same goes for the horn buttondoor panels are from 73-76. The door panels look right 73-76 they seem to match the dash. The dash does it have a Vin hole in the top left side or not. If it does not then it from 1973-1978, but I think it's the right one for the truck. Could be for a 1973-77 and still work for your year. Needed some work did it, when you first got it.
But looks workable . So what other spots or parts did want to know about.

The dash can be removed, it will take some work. The front windshield should be removed when doing so, makes it alot easier, yes it is welded and this is where. there are also a few bolts under the dash that holds it in also. I have never removed one but I have looked at how it would be done in a stripped cab. been thinking of pulling mine out and building a custom dash so I have looked at it some.

If I remember right it's a 1973-1975 the Metal dash backing support can total unbolt , so it only the firewall there . Because the Vin plate not on the dash . I know for sure that 1981 up they do not unbolt totally as BowtieGuy has said. But in all cases the front part does unbolt so it flop around at the front as said and you will have to drill out the spot welds on the lower windshield now one of the last one I think I took out was on a 1975. I think the started early to weld them I can't remember what year so 1976-80 could have the dash totally unbolt I believe that GM was getting ready switch the Vin they would have started early but I do not know for sure how early ( year they re-tooled the set up the set up.
Now since your dash is off take a pic off the that area ( or look there good near the bottom of the windshield top of the dash to see if the spot welds ) It's been awhile now but maybe it just under the top part if it curves down I have to see it now to remember now. I know it's a lot easier to see when all the stuff it out down to the metal support only.

My windshield washer function is part of the wiper switch, you push on chrome button to activate squirters. It is located on lower left of dash, next to steering column.......1978 C10 Big 10, fleetside, 350cui, TH350, 3.08 limited slip, A/C, comfort tilt wheel, PB, PS, 110,000 miles, Baby blue over white, interior-mint condition, well taken care of truck, never been smoked in, no rust anywhere, and it's a Michigan truck, 100% Ziebarted, even around windshield posts and headers, and inside all cab mount areas.

Your lower dash where the radio was, looks like your truck used to be same color as mine. Also my truck is only 2 wheel drive, maybe that's why it is in such great shape, never been beat to death plowing snow....lol. I am second owner too, that helps alot. I also have dual 20 gallon saddle tanks with round exterior fuel caps, ( early '78 ) I am going to repaint with basecoat/clearcoat same colors, in a couple years and put all aluminum mouldings back on, too pretty of a combination to change, sorry but I am the type of person who likes my trucks to be as original as possible, I show mine as unmodified classic, Have gotten GREAT accolades for originality. Sure glad I have a garage, alot of creeps around here would steal it in a heartbeat!

OK I would get the mechine shop to do all work you can not do
I would put the motor block under a tarp make some kinda in closer put down some ply wood where you be working . Now you have to try to keep in dry not to damp or dusty has to be done in at most two days one day would be better. test fit all parts clean all passages & every thing, do what the book says for putting a motor back to getter TQ ALL BOLTS as SAID use the right lubes and lock tight- sealer. If you do not have a place to do that then I would get the shop to put it to getter, then you still have to rent engine Carin to put it back in or out of the truck. you will need room to do this. This is as much as I can tell you . Another book to get- first SBC basic build book some thing like that And one of the books in the book section..
