hi everyone, i am installing in my 1980 gmc truck the normal battery tray as well as the auxilliary one, i have some questions about the aux. battery tray. because i know that there are other trucks who also have the two battery trays in their engine bay, please send me some pictures of your aux. battery tray setup. the aux.battery tray and support are located on the driversside near the radiator. this is how the support looks like : this is the tray(according to the lmc truck catalog the aux and regular tray are the same): label for the correct era: the tray on the support (not attached): my question: how do i attach the tray on the support, as you will notice in the next picture, the mounting holes lead to nowhere: the only hole that matches is the one almost in the center of the picture here: i can not imagine the tray is connected to the support by only this hole... answers and pictures are very welcome ! have a nice day texasredneck

I will try to tell you an make the auxiliary battery tray more under stand-able how it bolts up.(you are so close.) The auxiliary battery tray bolts to the driver side fender & inner fender. Bye the pic's you all most right. You should try to put the two plugs in the holes on the in side of the fender first you might have to drill holes for the inner fender. Once you get it all fitted if they tapped the plug all the way throw pop them in the hole if they did it that way, & get a longer bolt nut tighten them up this will compress the plug holds semi tight there . You may need them or not if your fender has nut weld in the bracing of the fender they may be using it as a spacer. If you fender just has holes that can not take u nut's then you will need the plugs. You know the clips that go on the fender where the inner fender bolts too. I had dual Batt on my 1977 before I swapped the front clip but I had made one up to bolt the rad support after the button rotted out. the factory bracket was found mostly on diesel truck or plow set ups trucks. If you look at the way the right side batt tray bolts you will get a idea it bolts all most the same way . Now you may have to drill holes if they are not factory fenders, but pre fit it first make sure it sit as level as you can. I hope this help you out. I'm writing this quick hope it make sense to you. i114.photobucket.com/albums/n251/thetexasredneck/HPIM6020.jpg this pic you show the Batt tray the sitting correct oh that tray fittes both left & right fenders. for GM trucks 73-80 And the one hole is all that hold that one it should not bounce out but you could make another hole weld a nut under on the under bracket.
