Need some advise! I have an 85 C10, The AC/Heater controls locked up and pieces started falling out. Can I buy this part new? or is my only option the salvage. The Manual I have does not show AC/Heater control replacement. Is mainly replacing the control box?
Thanks Ray

I am not sure about new replacement parts for this. You can try LMC, they offer a free catalog for our trucks with all kinds of replacement parts. Other than that all I can say is salavage yards. The control panel in the dash is what your talking about right? If so this is a fairly easy piece to change out. A few bolts hold it in, 4 if I remember correctly, then an electric plug in and a vaccuum plug in. The electric plug in controls the fan speed and the vaccuum controls the vent, defrost, etc. settings. Oh yea and I forgot a hard wire control that adjusts the hot-cold temp.

If it is just the controls I may have one. I am going to my dad's house this weekend; I will look. If i do ill sell it to you for the cost of shipping and a McD's dinner how does that sound? If i am not mistaken it is out of an 85

Does anyone know the configuration of the vacuum connections in the back of the AC controls on an 87 1 ton? There are 4 lines, red, white, black and blue. Mine have come out and i do not know which way to plug them back in.

Usually, they are all joined with a rubber ring. There should be a locating tab on the rubber ring that will line up with a slot on the back of the control head.
