Just thought I would take a minute to introduce myself here to everyone. My name's Mike and I live in central Wisconsin, Wausau more specifically. I am a technical support representative for Bombardier Sea-Doo Ski-Doo with a background as a technician. I love wrenching and restoration projects take up most of my spare time.
Looks like a pretty cool website, I hope to gain some knowledge from y'all and maybe share a bit of what I know too.
I have an 86 C-10 4X4 Custom Deluxe that I have recently done a color-change paint job on. I have had the truck for more then 6 years and have been replacing parts here and there, consequently leaving a multi-colored result before I painted! It turned into a huge project that I underestimated over the summer, lasting more then 7 months of bodyworking and prepping. Its almost finished now with some minor details to take care of but that will finish up this spring. Now it sits in my garage where I refuse to drive it on the salty roads of Wisconsin this winter. I'll be darned if I will let it see an ounce of rust if I have put this much into it so far!
It's black now with 33 12.50 inch all terrains, a brand new rhino liner spray in bedliner, new reworked and covered bench seat, all new weatherstripping and reworked doors, etc. etc. The drivetrain is in need of some attention with a tired old 350 mated to a 3 speed. (It originally had a 6 cyl. that somebody yanked in favor of mooore power yeeeah c'mon!)
I think my first mechanical things I will address this spring will be an 8 inch lift kit and steering/ suspension rebuild. I think I'll go post in the appropriate sections regarding those topics.
I'll get some pics posted later on when I have a good collection of before and afters..
Anyhow, hope everyone has a safe happy holiday season and all that good stuff!
