Hi guys and gals....... I am doing a frame off restoration on my 86 GMC Wrangler, last night I started the cab removal......I got all but one bolt off(of course everything couldn't go right..lol), The bolt on the back of the cab keeps spinning, I think the welded nut let go in the cab itself, Is there anyway of still getting this out, I was thinking I would have to drill a hole behind the seat to get at it, and put a rubber grommet back there, it wont be seen as the carpet will cover it. This was the last thing I wanted to do, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY OTHER IDEAS
Thanks

Well that sucks you don't want to break these bolts off. If you do, you will have to take the carpeting out of the cab and cut a hole in the floor the get the captive nut out and replace it with a new one. Use lots of penetrating oil and take you time have lots of patience will help. Let them soak overnight if you have to I would spray them steady for a week before starting if they look rusty. It will sure beat having to fix a broken bolt.. The other way would to cut open the bottom pull out the bolt re-weld it with a new nut in side. I once drove with one broken for two yrs before getting it fixed.
Do not fore get to take all the ground straps off too, e -brake too.
