I'm looking to lower my 78 chevy short bed. I'm planning to go with a 5 inch drop in the front and a 6 inch drop in the rear. First off with 3 inch drop spindlesand 15 inch wheels will I have any clearence problems around the lower control arm and the brake caliper. In the rear I plan on using a flip kit, but I"m not sure that I'll need the C notch in the frame. I'm sure that I'll need lowered shocks.Any ideas will be most hepful.

whats up! yeah your going to need 17" in the front cuz it going to rub bad, and in the back. yeah your going to need to put the c-notch in. i have done the flip kit on the back of mine and it hits the frame. and on the shocks i suggest nitros form belltech the give a smoother ride. i was going to just drop mine but i choose to bag it instead

Check out "driveable Lowering" in the suspenion section.Yes I have the stock rallies 15x8 with 3 inch drop spindles and a 1.6 inch drop coil. If it rubs you did wrong. The flip kit is being installed. Info to follow

Sorry I did not read the year. I am not sure if the suspenion is different on an 78 compared to my 85

I have 3 inch drop spindles in the front of my truck and the only thing I have to worry about is the brake lines. I had to "encourage" the hard line without cracking it. As for the back I have a flip kit on it and I dont have any problems with mine at all. I also have 10 inch wide wheels and 315/50/15 tires on them. Its close but nothing rubs.
