The easiest way to tell is by the shape of the transmission pan but until I can get some pictures posted I will try to explain in words instead.
If you have a 700r4, there will be a T.V. (throttle valve) cable. This controls the amount of pressure the trans. will have at a given throttle position. There will also be a 4 wire plug in on the driver's side on top of the trans. pan being plugged in up and down. Usually there is only 3 or less wires in this plug in. Also if you look on the driver's side behind the transpan you will see a round cover where the shifting governor goes.
The Turbo 350 will not have a T.V. cable but instead have a detent cable. This only controls the passing gear kick down. On the rear passenger side on the trans. there is a vaccum modulator, this controls the shifting on the trans. There are 2 versions of the Turbo 350, one being the regular, non lock-up, and the other being the lock-up version. The lock-up version was to help reduce pollutions and increase gasmilage in newer vehicles.
