I've tapped the electric choke wire into the red wire on the plug that goes into the alternator on my '86 G-20 Chevy Van. The truck has a newer 350 GM Goodwrench engine; which was Dealer installed in 1998. I plan to put a fuse in the choke wire. What amperage fuse should I use? And is all this going to be OK?

OK why do you not just run a new wire from the back of the fuse box where the choke fuse is the the choke ( 20 amp ) and the ground goes from the choke housing to the intake. Some where it makes a good connection. I think it should be green wire from the factory and factory carb choke may not have a ground. (may ground throw the housing )
