hey ,
i'll try to answer your questions the best i can.
i have never been to texas yet, i have been to the south, alabama, georgia, mississippi, tennessee, next i'll go for louisiana, so i'm approaching texas, lool!I read a lot about the state, i'm fond of it, it's my favorite state. my girlfriend is from alabama, i'm planning on living with her very soon now, and yes, i am taking the truck with me to the usa.i do not have children, who knows what the future will bring ;-)we might end up in texas :-)
i started to work on it in 2004. i work a fulltime job from monday till friday .I start at 7.30 and finish 16.00hrs. so , espescially in summertime that gives me lots of time to work on the truck. i am semi single, as long as i am not officially moved in with my girlfriend i am kinda single still.. no? lol! i like to take a lot of pics of the truck, it will help me remind how much effort i put in it, and give others an idea about how much time (and cash..) gets into a restoration project.i put almost all my pics on this forum, its a great website .
the engine is a 350 V8, the tranny is a 350, its a 2X4. its slightly modified with headers , an edelbrock carb 650cfm, and flowmaster mufflers, its a true dual exhaust setup.the engine is old but it still runs good, if i'd ever have to buy a new one than i would also get an intake manifold from edelbrock. a lot of HP doesn't really interest me, i just like the rumble of the engine and the model of truck is awsome ;-)
it's true about the detailing, i really like to surf the net and look for rare to find parts , its a hobby, right ;-)i even dream of the truck sometimes, loool! well, people surf or play in a band, i tinker on the truck.
i wish you all the best with your restoration project, don't give up! you might want to at certain point, but let it rest for a few months and then proceed, it's cool to drive something you build yourself!
Keep on truckin'!!
enjoy some new stuff :-)
here i'm doing a Flowmaster commercial ( i wish, loool!)
truck on the ramp ,new exhaust is about to go under the truck, everything else almost finished, left to do: headliner.
