HOW TO POST A PIC
----------------------------------------------------------
How to post a picture in a topic at this site
What you'll need:
Digital picture on your computer, or already posted on a website somewhere
A photo hosting website, such as www.photobucket.com
A membership at this website, so you can post replies
Instructions:
Picture on your computer: I'll assume that if you have a digital camera or photo CD, you can get the picture from there and save it to your computer.
Photo hosting: You need to upload your picture onto the Internet. You can't upload it directly to this site. I use photobucket.com, which is a FREE photo hosting service. It's very easy to set up an account there, and their website walks you through how to copy a picture from your computer onto their site.
Adding a picture to your Bowtieguy's 73- 87Chevy Truck Stop: When you hit the "Add Reply" button at the bottom of an existing topic, there are a few ways to add a picture -
1. Display an existing picture on ANY website in a post here: On the other website, right-click the picture you want and select "Properties". This will display the Internet address to the picture. Highlight the address, right-click to Copy. (You can try this out on the picture included below.) Returning to this site, you'll paste that address to your topic by clicking on the "IMG" button just above the text box, paste the address, then click on the "IMG" button once again to close the tag.
2. Display a picture from your Photobucket account: It's a bit simpler. In your account, below each picture they put the Internet address there for you to copy and paste elsewhere... er, like the Bowtieguy's 73- 87Chevy Truck Stop site. Copy the address of the picture you want, and paste it here in the Add Reply screen using the IMG approach described in #1 above.
3. Or, you can add just a hyperlink to your picture, by following a similar process. If you do this, people will have to click on the link to see your picture. To do this, you use the HTTP button instead of IMG. (You'd use this alternative if the picture is physically very big on the screen, or it's a big file to download.)
Pictures must be remotely hosted using www.photobucket.com or something similar. You can have your actual pic inserted in your post by using the button on the reply screen.
You have to insert the URL inside the [/img]HERE [/img] tags
Hope this helps .... ;D
