1987 Silverado 1/2 ton 2WD
The shock mount holes are WORN out badly. Does anybody offer a kit to help with this problem or do I just need to have a professional welder fix it? And is this a common problem?

This is sort of a common problem if the shock are to heavy duty for the weight of the truck in the front or the back, the nuts get lose on the shock " or just backed off from use "and no one tighten them up, and the whole shock moves up and down. ( slamming the frame and the mounting bracket wearing those spots out .) So a little eye checking and routine work (maintaining the bolts there tight). Unless you can do it your self. I would get welder to do it for you.

Thanx! I appreciate the feedback. I was pretty thrilled when I found this website. There's a lot of love for these trucks out in the real world, but on the web it's difficult to find an organized group centered around them. Quick question: How can I post a .jpg of my truck?
