hi, is there a difference between the rubber cab mounts used on a 4x4 compared to a 2 wheen drive? I have a 1977 3\4 ton 4x4 and bought 2 front cab mounts and now notice that the cab looks like it is leaning forward. I'm wondering if there are bigger front mounts for a 4x4 and maybe have the wrong mounts in. This may also explain why my clutch rod is not lining up properly (mechanical clutch) with the bracket\arm in the engine compartment. Also noticed that there is almost zero clearance between the distributer cap and the firewall. Not even enough room to put your hand in behind. your input would be appreciated thanks

There should be no difference's in 2x4 or 4x4 cab mounts other then them being new slight deferent in the 73 - 80 then the 81 to 87 mounts . Your rad core support mounts will sit lower on the old mounts now that you chanced the Cab mounts . Now if you read were I changed the front clip replaced the mounts with different one none chev 's to drop the Cab about 2" inches.

was out poking around with the truck today and yes it definitly seems to be sitting low at the front of the cab. Just wondering if there is no difference between the cab mounts on a 4x4 and a 2 wheel drive maybe things are sitting like that due to me not having tightened down the 2 rear bolts for the rear cab mounts. Can't remember just how compressed those acordian style rubbers at the back of the cab need to be. That will make things a little more level but don't think it will give me what i need to help with the clutch rod lining up properly to the spring lever on the engine side. I just can't see why i would need to add spacers in the front if i have the right rubber mounts...still stumped

? did you have the motor out, not put it back in the same holes across frame. ? did you change to a new stander ed Tran. Or did you just change Cab mounts . Because if you just changed the mounts on the Cab you would not have to take out the drive train .just unhook the shifter the rad support the gas paddle & any other wires that mount to the body panels. So something is not back in the wright place.
