HI,
In 2004 I have bought a gmc sierra grande pick up truck from 1980.
it is a fleetside, 1/2 ton standard, no powerlocks, airco, nothing special.
it used to be a diesel engine but the owners before me changed it to gas .so there is a V8 in it, it's a 350 ; with some new headers and another performer I will feel the difference.I guess hooker headers and an edelbrock performer(other opinions are welcome!!)there was a lot of rust on it everywhere and some serious dents too.
in two years I already have bought a lot of new stuff for my truck from lmc-truck and classic-industries, I think it is amazing that one can still buy new parts for such an old truck(the shipping costs are however always veeery expensive to Belgium Europe.I have bought a lot of stuff on e-bay too(thank god for that website).
in short
i drove the truck for a while
i removed almost everything of it
cleaned the reusable parts and the rest i sold or threw away
i cutted, welded, i took care of the bodywork
i have bought a lot of new stuff like a new side fender, windshield, searched and found the airco system for my aircoless truck, i cleaned the chassis, the rear axle and i took care of the underside of the bed.
i still have to put new rubbers under the cab but there are now new bolts in the bed, get a new exhaust system, choose a color(s) for my truck , put the engine back in,put everything back in actually, hahaha !
i will put pictures on this site so you have pictures with my story!
As my work advances i will continue writing here.
catch y'all later !
this is the truck when i bought it
the truck almost stripped and doing a wheelie
oh yeah, we have a brand new blazer in the garage too
after stripping, it's bodywork time, i hate sanding!
here we welded in a new repair panel
a view of the truck from inside the garage
my redneck life with jessica simpson
-i painted the rear axle red, i have bought a differential cover in chrome but is is not on yet.
look, i found a reel out light
