Hello all. I have an 83 Silverado 3+3 dually, 454, m4, 2wd, crew cab, long bed. I bought it to tow a 43' Chapperal enclosed car trailer. (with 2 cars of course). The first year (2003) I had it, it did OK. Struggled in the small mountains of PA and WV. Last year it began to buck and sputter with less and less power. It is a pretty nice truck inside. Outside is straight, paint is OK...traces of rust beginning to appear around the weap points. (doors and windshield) I would like to buy her a new crate engine and new rims. Perhaps clean up the early cancer and make her shine again. Glad to find y'all.

Sounds like the 502 will be put to good use. Post some pics if you can, it sounds interesting! The ZZ502 is in. Still hooking everything up. New fly wheel, clutch assembly, water pump...ect. The thing just looks like it's ready to pull a mountain. I'll take some pics when it's cleaned up.

pics up. She roared to life today !! With only Hedmann headers she sure shook the building. Timing set to "tame" till I can get some hi-octane in the tanks. (dieseling after cut off). Electric choke was a little touchy...kept blowing fuses. Had to run a seperate circuit and that appears to have corrected the problem. Power steering pump is leaking, so putting on a reman tommorow. Anyway here are the shots.

That's just awesome! But, are you sure you're going to have enough torque with that thing?? Thanks for the pics!

That's just awesome! But, are you sure you're going to have enough torque with that thing?? Thanks for the pics! I sure hope so. That rig I pull is heavy when loaded with a pair of late model Fbodys. These hills (mountains) in the NE can really test the muscle of the tow vehicle. We shall see. Regards, Glenn
