I guess since I made this site for all us Chevy truck fans I should atleast describe mine a little bit so here goes. I drive daily an 86 Silverado 1/2 ton 2wd short wide bed with a parts house replacement 350 thats been treated to a Edlebrock Performer RPM intake, headers and new 74 model Q-Jet topping it off, 2.5" dual (no cats) exhaust, 700r4 tranny with shift kit and Corvette servos, and 3.73 gears in the rear. Nothing drastic but it is a pleasure to drive. Still gotta finish the body work. There are lots of plans still for that. Interior has been upgraded to bucket seats from a Mazda 929, custom built center console and speaker box with 2 10" subs.

I sold my 1977 Chevy Custom Deluxe 4x4 ShortBox Stepside just before I got my Chevelle. 2 kids and a wife made it a tight squeeze in the cab. It had a 350, it came with 3.73 axles and a 4spd manual "bull low" trans that was later swapped for a TH350. I stayed with a NP205 transfer case as well. I still miss the old girl.

I have a 73 Chevy Cheyenne Super. LWB Fleetside 'Yeller' and 'white'.
Bought her NEW in 1973. 350 (355 actually) engine and transmission. Tuned Port Fuel Injection Custom programming by me.
Small street cam..just enough to have that lopey idle that sounds so good.
Got 2.5" dual exhaust and Walker Dynomax mufflers. Got a set of Flowtech headers on there. She sounds SO good. Idles like a kitten but roars like a lion when you get 'on it'.
Just removed the 31 year old Q-Jet carb & intake and put TPI on. She runs SOOOO much better now. Mileage went for 9-10 to 13.6mpg. Power is much smoother and so is throttle response. I did all the changover myself including the EPROM tuning.
She's headed in to the body and paint shop within the next 90 days to be COMPLETELY rehabilitated. Will come out better than new !! Then it'll be new seat upholstery and new carpet.
Next mechanical mod is changing over to a serpentine belt system with the newer style AC compresser.
After that is changing the 350 trans. to a 700R4. That should boost the mileage.
Now that she's 'semi retired' she's getting all this attention that she missed all those years when she was a 'work horse'. (and I was a 'race horse')
She's old and rusty but we've been through a LOT together the past 31 years..

Thanks bowtieguy! I LOVE my truck. It's been with me more than half my life. We've been through a LOT together. The only truck that 'might' tempt me is that new 500hp Dodge. It would be a hard decision but I would consider trading my old truck for one of those. Of course they'd have to pay me a little boot to really sway me. After all, mine is a CHEVY!!!!! ;D

My truck has given me a few headaches but there is no way I could ever trade her in, especially for a Dodge. If I where to ever trade it, it would have to be for a 68 Chevy stepside.

Hi All,
I haven't got a truck but I do have my Peugeot which I love and is my beauty to drive.
Only 170bhp, but out of a 2.0L engine it is quite impressive and that is standard power too.
Inline for the modifying is to gas flow the head, high performance cambelt, exhaust system 4", de-cat, high performance inlet cam as exhaust cam is already set for power from the factory. An ECU performance chip, a power boost valve for a fuel pressure regulator, and I think that is about it.
Stan.

Autodisco, Bowtieguy, y'all know this old white beast fairly well so I'll tell the other chevy guys about my old rag. It is a 1985 short wide bed with a 1970 model 350 block with four bolt mains, stroked to a 383 with a balanced rotating assy. hyperrutectic pistons(9.7 to 1) trick flow twisted wedge heads, Comp Cams XE274 230/236 @.050 duration, .480/.486 lift, 110 centerline, installed @ 106, w/1.5 roller rockers, 1 3/4 hooker super comps, two and a half pipes all the way out the back, with flow master 40 series mufflers. On the intake side there is an Edelbrock performer RPM dual plane intake with a DiVinci 750 double pumper(which is one rockin' fuel mixer) along with a performance distributor's distributor and a 6AL box. The tranny is a raptor 700R4 from a place in Bossier City, LA. It has a 3000 stall lock up convertor(Myself and Bowtieguy had built a 700 for it earlier but I shattered the bellhousing going to third ). The rear end is completely rebuilt with 4.10 gears and a locker. The truck is mini tubbed to be able to handle 12 inch wheels and tires. The rear wheels have a 7 1/2 backspacing with the fattest drag raidials that can be had in 15 inch size, they have 12 inches of rubber touching the ground. The wheels are weld drag lites.

I can assure you it is a beast. We have loads of blood, sweat, and beer tied up building that truck. And it is a blast to drive or even ride in.

Well, since I've only had my truck for a week, I dont know much about it, although I can guarantee it doesnt come close to putting out as much power as your guys' sound like they do. So for what I do know, my 1987 C10 LWB Custom Deluxe has a stock 350, 700R4 tranny. Not sure what differential I have, nor do I know how to find out (anybody know a simple way??). It's got aftermarket 15" chrome rims with 31"s. To be totally honest, I have been a die hard junky a$$ f@#d fan since 1998. I've never owned a junky a$$ f@#d, but junky a$$ f@#ds in the family have always been very reliable. So when I bought my first truck, I wanted to ride the fence, not to mention, I like Chevy's body style a lot better. So far, I've enjoyed this truck. It's almost a pleasure to work on with as much space is available for working on these things. What I admire most so far is how fellow Chevy owners are extremely helpful and cool to talk to. I've used many many forums for the Toyota and AMC that I own, and I've even used some for Plymouths and Mopars which I no longer have, but nothing has ever compared to the amount of advice and respect I have received from fellow Chevy owners. It gives me a sense of pride and assurance that owning a genuine Chevrolet is a worthwhile experience. So thanks to anyone who ever helps me or even reads my posts from time to time, and thanks for creating an awesome site Bowtieguy. Hope y'all had a wonderful 4th!

Thanks alot for the comments on the site nn2004, I do appreciate that. I have been a die hard Chevy fan since day one. There are several places where fellow Chevy fans get together and interact almost like a family. I started this site with a few friends helping me out and we do what we can to help each other. You can say that must of the members here are like a family with each other. Thats what this site is all about. Helping out your fellow Chevy fan. If there is anything we can do to help you out please feel free to ask. I will share the same theory that was preached to me at work, the only stupid question you can ever ask is the one you never ask. I try to add information to the site to help out others as I can so keep checking back with us. If you don't see what you need please ask. There are members here that are very knowledgeable and can help you out or atleast point you in the right direction.
