Hi you Truck lovers! Still pondering about my 292. I have heard what Don said about the 292 and It's limitations. Have recently came across this link, and wondered what you guys think. www.truckworld.com/How-To-Tech/Chevrolet-Engine/Chevy-engine.htmlDo you think it's a option for the 292 or will it never be as nice (or nearly) as a 350? Thanks

The 292 will never come very close in performance to a good mildly built street 350. But I think it is super cool to have a 292 built up like that! The only engine I would not take the time to fix up would be a 305 V8. If I had an older truck with a 292 I think it would be fun to build it up like he did. I think a warmed up 350 would be more fun to drive just not as neat to have.

see my signature, thats what i have. It's got around 260 HP and 330 ft lbs of torque, the engine has about 84k on it and i have a turbo 350 trans, 12 bolt open rear end with 3.08 gears and 255 70 r 15 tires on stock 15x8 rally rims. I consistently get 11.5-12.5 mpg around town and my record on the highway was 14.7 mpg averaging 75mph. I have A/C and i was blasting it in 100 degree weather when i got 14.7 mpg. I actually wish that my trans would blow so that i have an excuse to put in a 700 r 4, i would like to try and break the 20 mpg mark.
