I have two of these pickups. An 85 GMC C1500 2wd longbed and an 86 Chevy K30 4x4 single cab. Both pretty decent pickups.
The K30 I restored several years ago w/ many new body panels including rocker panels, cab corners, doors, fenders, new paint, all new interior, grille, etc. Bought a bunch of parts from LMC truck.
Currenty tinkering with the 85 GMC C1500. Last winter went thoroughly through the running gear. New Goodwrench engine, incl new radiator and replaced a bunch of stuff under the hood during the engine change, trans rebuilt, new exhaust, etc. Trying to work all the mechanical bugs out and then probably body restoration and repaint.
Fun to work on these old pickups as they are fairly simple and usable daily drivers. Appreciate the info I have already gained from this forum and look forward to sharing info in the future.

Here are a couple photos of my '86 Chevy K30 1 ton 4X4 that I restored 4 yrs ago. Restoration included many rust repair panels, new rocker panels, fenders & doors replaced. New grille, mirrors, light assy's, all interior parts, etc, bought from LMC truck. It's a very basic/stock pickup, is a daily driver, and rides like the suspension is welded solid. This pickup seems to be somewhat unique, as I've only seen a couple other single cab 1 ton pickups like this. s215.photobucket.com/albums/cc51/cstephl/?action=view¤t=IMG_0437.jpgs215.photobucket.com/albums/cc51/cstephl/?action=view¤t=IMG_0434.jpg
