Hi...I have a 1980 C10..The factory gauge cluster is a complete mess and the only gauge that works is the temp gauge..Here's my situation..the factory cluster has a large 5 inch Speedo and Fuel gauge..the others to the left, oil, temp, volts are the smaller 2 1/16 sizes..I bought Autometer 2 5/8 Oil pressure,Water temp, and volt meter gauges..which I want to mount around the dash area in those mounting cups..can I successfully use the after market gauges and somehow block off the power going to the back of the gauge cluster for the factory temp, oil and volt gauges? Since there is a printed circuit board mounted to the gauge base does that mean that there is always power to the connections where the factory oil, water and volt gauges used to be? The only factory gauges I want to use are the speedo and fuel gauges and leave the others blank since I will be using the aftermarket gauges. Will wiring be a problem? Is there anything I need to do to make this work? I hope I wrote out the question properly but I think you know what I mean...and for a final question...will a stock gauge cluster from a 76 C10 bolt in and work in my truck? That one just has the large speedo and fuel gauges and the ones to the left are dummy lights..a red lens cover...open to suggestions...thanks folks...

Hello squarebodymob Sorry your gauge cluster is a mess. The 80 cluster and the 76 are not the same wiring ( and do have power and ground working once plugged in ) yes for the most part hard parts ATTION: not the Electric Wiring. Yes if you want bolt in the cluster housing, But you are going to have to look up a wiring diagram of the none gauge76 and the gauge80 de-pin the one you will not need. I have not seen a 76 none gauge board in a long time But I think the printed circuit board of the 80 may fit the 76 cluster case. but you have to make sure take out any wiring end's heat shrink them that you do not need now and if you ever want to re-hook them can. The 76 is a amp set up printed board can burn up your wiring harness and maybe the truck if your not careful. I do not know if you know how to de-pin or not. Do you want the lights to work only on the speedo and the gas gauge then you will need to de-pin most of the lights. So have a good hard look at what different between the two boards what you would like to try then double check the cluster cases if it work for you needs. You may need to 79-82 cluster with out gauges to make it easier. You could tap in the the factory gauge wiring for your new gauges if the harness is good and not shorted use the GM sender or change out for the new one that the gauges come with or need.
