I'm here because ive run into a problem, bought a truck Gm 1 ton dually 1986 gets great fuel mileage and seems to have all the power I need. when she was insured I never looked at the paperwork just signed it at passed it back then into the envelope and its been in my glove box for the last 5 months. DOT pulled me over and I had roughly gvw 10,000 lbs which should have been fine until he looked at my registration and ran my vin. shes only good for 2840kg (6250lbs) and registered as a 3/4 ton. Hell she weights 7000lbs empty. Anyway been looking for frame vin and cant find it.... anyone email me a photo or photos at fanhorn@telus.net would be greatly appreciated
Had a mechanic and I at a shop looked for 2 hours we couldn't find a vin. ICBC sent a fellow over and in 25 min he located the vin for us. I have a 1985 GMC 3500 dually flatdeck 6.2 diesel that is a GM goodwrench crate engine so not stock .....with a 86 3/4 ton cab which caused all the confusion. NT WT 3336kg GVW 5004kg now I can insure it

First off you will have to see what your vin says your dually is. The Vin should be stamped on the frame rail some where near the cab, but there had to see most of the time. check your alt at the back on the block head for VIN.
