Ok. Im new to the forum and all so bare with me. i have a 1976 stepside 1/2 ton 4x4 . 4 speed with the 205 case the truck is lifted 4 inches (with blocks) and 35's. in the last month i have put 1 yoke on the transfer case, 2 new slip yokes, in it and 6 u-joints. all on the front of the rear drive shaft. the u joins are breaking in half or melting through the caps. the most recent mishap happened while going the speed limit on the high way the u joint melted through the caps and melted into the you and then broke it off causing the yoke slip yoke and u joint all to have to be replaced, let alone every thing that got beat up needs replaced.
someone please help me. p.s. i baby this truck but still try and have fun i don't push it to hard

Have you check the u-joints to make sure all of them are taking grease and none of them are starting to seize. does your drive shaft look like it bent or been hit (dented) that about all I can think of . Are you putting grease in them.

sorry i haven't replied we had a tornado pass through and take down alot of our trees. i have checked all the u joints and have greased them all. the only one that keeps failing is the one that meets the slip yoke and the transfer-case yoke. my drive shaft is straight. i have even sent it in to be balanced. thank you for your response. if you have any other ideas let me know, because I'm lost on this.
