Thus not possible to fix it on the pump La pompe est une tuff stuff chromée la poulie march N° 6.. The pump is a tuff stuff chrome the pulley march N° 6…. Je place des photos et les références demain I place photographs and the references tomorrow Avez-vous déjà eu ce problème ou existe-t-il une pièce qui ce place dans le trou de la poulie ou dois-je faire la pièce You already had this problem or exists it a part which this place in the hole of the pulley or must I make the part

texasredneck maybe you can help me under stand the question better. Yes March pulleys are nice I take a stab at this any how you pump is leaking at he shaft seal of the tank ? If it's leaking any where around there the pulley has to come off replace the pump or fix it. you would need a power steering pump pulley remover. Now it's hard to see but it looks all most like the pulley might be put on back wards. that will make taking off the pulley hard. If not then I would rent or buy a power steering pump pulley Remover Installer to do work on those types your self. if the pulley was put on back wards then you might have to take it to a some one that has puller that may work on that pulley since if it's on the wrong way the two groves will not be able to hook up the right puller. Then you will have to three or four arm puller try to hook in the belt area this may make the pulley no good.!
Did I hit on any of the points you needed I can get you a # for the puller I use the full kit is better because you can put the pulley back on again.

hey pontiac,
he says that the hole in the pulley is too big for the steering pump axl,his pulley is a march nr 6 and the steering pump the tuff stuff brand. have you allready had this problem, is there somethi,ng thta exists to make it fit? i'm checkn out my steering pump and pulley tomorrow , to see how its fixed,i guess if he mounted the pulley backwards the belt won't be line up straight, no?

Thank you for your 1st answer Pontiac 1976 J’ai peu être mal expliqué. Mon anglais est primitif I have to be badly explained little. My English is primitive La pompe est nouvelle et la poulie aussi The pump is new and the pulley too Tout est un kit march nouveau jamais placé sur le moteur et acheté il y a déjà 4 ou 5 années All is a new kit march ever placed on the engine and bought there are already 4 or 5 years Simplement l’axe de la pompe est plus petit que le trou dans la poulie Simply the axis of the pump is smaller than the hole in the pulley Il y a peu être une bague ou un autre système pour calé la poulie qui n’est pas fourni dans le kit There is to little be a ring or another system for fixed the pulley which is not provided in the kit

it seems that there are 6 different tuff stuff steering pump models so: or the steering pump is wrong or the pulley ...pulleys are screwed on the steering pump with a kit that is mostly with the pump or pulley it's nothing more than a bolt, nut and washer but you have to place the pulley on the steering pump shaft , put the bolt in the shaft with the nut and washer and tighten the pulley on the pump by wrenching it on...so, if the hole in the pulley is too big then it's either a wrong pump or pulley...nothing extra is needed to fix the pulley on the pump....

Hey kurt Je suis allé au garage aujourd’hui prendre les mesures. I went to the garage to take measurements today. La pompe ancienne à un axe de 19 mm = 3/8 The old pump with an axis of 19 mm = 3/8 La poulie est mise à la presse. The pulley is put at the press La nouvelle pompe à un axe de 16 mm avec une clavette. The new pump with an axis of 16 mm with a key J’ai recherchez dans le catalogue, ma poulie n° 617 = le trou 19 mm I have seek in the catalogue, my pulley n° 617 = the hole 19 mm La bonne poulie pour ma pompe doit être la n° 616 = le trou de 16 mm avec rainure pour clavette. The good pulley for my pump must be the n° 616 = the hole of 16 mm with groove for key. No problemo ! Reste à commander 1 poulie N° 616 et 1 fan extantion N° 353 et çà devrait tourner Remain to order 1 pulley N° 616 and 1 fan extantion N° 353 and that should turn www.marchperf.com/pg5.htmlMerci de votre aide Thank you for your assistance Bob

Yes there is different size shaft pulleys but it should be snugg. And the pulley should have notch grove around that the pulley fit in the pull it off. Do you have A/c or a AIR PUMP on the truck.there two main sizes on them from 73 - 80 with the single groove pulley off hand I do not know the sizes
