Is the first pic at the front of the truck (inside engine compartment) or rear?

The first pic is the front where the bumper bolts rails.
The second pic is the right side frt. rail @ the cradle right in front of the shock & upper control arm.
The third is the passanger side just behind the cab frt mount
73-80 are different from 81-87 in frt center cab cross brace, rear frame section. E-brake brackets are different.
The t in the vin would be GMC the next might be a c then it would stand for a 2wd
Quote: rear end has: 3896839N/GM73 and A96_. Should be the diff casting #'s/ if you look in the diff section should be to good post to id: it.

OK here goes. this is for the 73-80 frame The first ----- letter will be C for Chevrolet or T for GMC. The second---- C for 2 wheel drive or K for 4 wheel drive. The third is the engine description . The fourth is Series for Chev 1=10, 2=20, 3=30 For GMC 1=15, 2=25, 3=35 The fifth is body type 4 = PICK UP The sixth is Year. 3=73, 4=74, 5=75, 6=76, 7=77, 8=78, 9=79, A=80. Now the # seam to be a little off. but .lets see.

That look like the fame rails stamping. Did you read all post see all pic's links. wright down your Vin # then check the frame There going to be hard to read or see if the frame not bare and has rust. If the rust has open the 3 stamps it will be very very hard see. all # hiden under the rust under cab box. So if the parts are on you cant see them. Sand blasting the frame helps and magifiying glass some times help this how i found it. If you sand blast and you see # show up be carrful not to blast them off if they are faded bad.

The third post above show you how to decode it. C would be = chev truck. is your frame from truck a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton 73-80 because this was broke down for them. If yours is at one time for one of them or the years listed. It would be hard to try to find out with out more info. this all most same as a engine decode, but you need to have a start. Is it only the frame you have. Because that not a GM-73-80 1/2ton or 3/4 ton vin.
