What are the normal colors for my 350, built in Canada and what color other then the aluminum spray paint, looks like crap, no matter what you spray it on, can I paint my tranny, its a turbo 400

i believe the engine is blue or orange i am not sure about all this but i know there were blue and orange engines , i think the old ones were blue and the new ones orange..

The best color for the Trans would be silver, clean the ALUM body really good . Then lightly spray the trans ( all you want to do is like stain it just change the color it OK to have a little bit of the ALUM show like speckles) hold the can back a bit.
Now for the motor SBC was orange from start to 1977 , made in Canada to stay in Canada was more of a Red/ Orange Dark. SBC after 77 was Blue. till 83/84 then black
BBC were Orange till 1976 then Blue in 77, I do not remember when the BBC changed to black for sure. I always like the orange color for the 1976 & older SBC's

Pontiac1976 is correct. I also prefer all my engines regardless of the year painted orange. To me nothing spells Chevy like the engine orange color. Black would also look good on the tranny or even the body color of the vehicle but I prefer the alum. look myself.

My engine is all blue, TH350 trans is aluminum. My truck was built in April 1978. C10 Big 10 2whl drive, 350cui.

yep, my engine is blue too(1975) i believe they changed the color to orange in '81, is this possible ?

1975 motor Would be Orange bye GM FACTORY
1955-1977 ORANGE SBC ( small block chev ) 1978 - 1983 Blue SBC ( small block chev ) 1984 - 1990 Black SBC ( small block chev ) after 1990 the motor's were Alum. mostly
