Hey guys I think its about that time to be able to listen to something other than the loud growl of my Swampers on the pavement. I want to buy a CD player that plays MP3s and get some nice speaker boxes to put behind the seat. I only want to spend about $200-$300 on the entire set up Any ideas or suggestions???

I will edit it to include that. It is after all a rough off road vehicle so I only want to spend about $200-$300 on the entire package.

I am in that budget.. I bought my deck for 80 bucks as an opened floor model at best buy. And the sub cost me 70. The box I already had, and the amp I got for free from a friend.

The only thing bad about this is if you pan to buy a complete stereo it wont go far. A decent radio will run 100-200 bucks depending on how fancy you wanna get. A good set of 6X9's will run about 80 bucks so on the low side that is 180 total. For that price range i would suggest going to Walmart or Best Buy and finding a decent but cheap radio and 2 pairs of 6X9's. Put one pair behind the seat and another pair in the doors. I had a set up like this before and it gives a real good sound. The thing to remember is you get what you pay for, so a 40 dollar pair of speakers wont sound quit as good as a 80 dollar pair, and ALWAYS stick to good name brands. Sparkomatic, Jensen, and similar make decent cheap stuff but the sound will show it as well. And also good sound will always start at the radio.
