I decided to put 91 swithces in my 80 model truck, its pritty simple, what u need is the comple set and wiring that goes to the switches because the wiring is almost the same wire situation, but if you'll need to cut the inside of the door in you put the switches in the door panel in the factory location.

Yes that one of the better ways to do it. Now did you hook it to the proper fuse plug in the fuse box, or did you run to a jumper some where for power .? Now did you have A/c on you truck with no power windows because this would be easier to set in the fuse box & look factory.? Or was your a very basic option on the fuse box.?

So did you have to pay for the wireing and switch. How long did it take you to fix the stuff you used to fit yours. Did you know that you can buy the right switch in part store for the 73-87 cars & trucks under the Help packets ( red say help on them made bye dorman ).

well I bought the switches and wires out of a wrecked truck for like $15, and it really didnt take that long, You Just have to find a way to keep the switches in the panel, you have to cut the door so you can have fluse mountated switches and the wires that were in my door were almost the same as the 91 switches, and I wanted to have a differnt look than the 73-87 switches, since I also have connections for the 91 model switches.

thanks, man I thinking about adding dimond plate, also under the hood, on the lower door, kiker panels behind the seats, in the bed, and on the fire wall, to block the a/c box,

Are these pieces of diamond plate already ( store bought ) made up for these uses, or are you custom making them to fit? If you are making them, then you must know someone with a machine shop. I can guess that tin snips will just not "cut it"....lol Larry

the diamond plate was a large sheet I found at a swap meet it is real thin and you can use a jig saw or a drimel to cut it, and the edges will be sharp so use a file or belt sander to smoth it out so when you are working with it you don't cut your hands up

Just my 2 cents...
I would not recommend buying the "Help" brand name(Motormite/Dorman), I've had 2 fail on me!
