Ok, the engine is almost mine .. Might have to say goodbye to the ps2 to get though... I'm not sure about that one. I'm really good at ps2.

How much does he want for it? Why did he take it out? I have a 68 Camaro, but the engine is nothing close to that.

It's not so much that he wants anything for it.. he's just on the verge of giving it to me and he's a "what's in it for me" kind of guy

It's been a while guys but the beast is finally alive. I found out that there was no electrical problem per say, but the electronic carb control had been gutted to make the truck run better. I have since found the old owner got the right carb back and started painting the engine compartment. The only problem i am ahving now is finding some center dump exhaust manifolds. My block is a 79 or older and the 85 manifolds hide the dipstick! I should have more pics soon!

Good to hear you're making progress.
Why not pick up a cheap set of headers for your engine? The dipstick would be accessible, and you'll get a bit more grunt out of your truck.

I havent really looked at prices for smog legal headers (I live in CA) and I dont want to have to completely redo my pipes. Eventually it will have headers and dual exhaust but I just need to get it registered for now. After that I have two years to do it the way I want.

I have a 1984 regular cab Chevy K10 shortbed with a newly implanted late model 350 Vortec. It originally had a 305, but when I got it about half a year ago, it had a 400 in it. The 400's block was cracked from the starter flange, so we just got a new engine. There's about 50K on the newer engine and it's got a Holley spreadbore on top. There is also a decent stereo system that I installed most of in there too. It runs on 31x10.50 BFG All-Terrains right now, but I plan to put at least a 4 inch lift with 33's in time. There has been a lot of blood and sweat poured into it and I love every ounce of it. Rock on!

Hi my name is Derek im 20 and i live in minnesota. I have 2 trucks currently one is an 84 k10, which i recently blew a main bearing in taking it thru a mudhole 4 lo to the floor, but at least i had fun doing it, and my other truck is my baby. Its an 82 k30 with a mildly built 454, sm465, np205. My dad rolled it last winter, so i went to texas with a buddy of mine and bought a cab for it for 200$ rust free but a couple of dents. Brought it back up put it together and as of right now its sitting in the driveway all together with no interior (still have to do wiring) and no box.

I have 1974 Cheyenne Super, 1/2 ton 2WD, she's has a mildly built 350 motor, Four bolt mains, .263 Comp Cam, 9.0:1 compression, Ported and ploished heads (built by a NASCAR mechanic)...Edlebrock Preformer Carb. 750 c.f.m. electric choke, Edlebrock Prefomer Intake, TH350 Trans. w/ a shift-kit, 3.73 rear end gears, Headman Torque Step Headers, Dual 2.5 in. Exhaust, Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers, Front Disk Brakes, 265/75/15 tires all around. The body is clean I swaped out the front fenders, doors and hood with repro. parts...I did all the painting myself, the color is a really pure Orange...I had the stock rims Powder Coated black.
I want to put Roller Rocker Arms, Timming gears...and eventually Stroke it to 383. Just do some of that small stuff that steps up the Power...I live about 30 min. from Irwindale Race Track...so after I get some stuff dialed in I want to get my 1/8 mile time!
Me and my pops started restoring her in 2004 I was 15...now I'm 17 and have the sweetest ride at my high school...I''m young but I think I'm getting off to a good start.
