Hello to everybody. I have a '71 chevy blazer with a th350. Recently I have been having problems with it not wanting to nuts. The motor revs way up before shifting, usually for the 2-3 shift. I have checked the fluid level and its fine.
I was hoping for some ideas. I've been looking around the web at different shift kits and also maybe a complete rebuild to start off from scratch?
I have always felt that it dosn't shift like it should, too soft and it robs all my horse power. I've always gotten better results if I have manually shifted it, wich maybe in retrospect is why is it is acting the way it is?
I do tow a litte around town and a little highway. Any ideas or suggestions would be awesome.

A shift kit will not repair a worn or damaged tranny.
Your trans must be in good shape before installing one. If it's original and never been overhauled, I would think you are about due...

Thanks for the info. I've been doing some more searching and have found the same thing. I found a trouble shooting guide and am thinking that possiable I have a mis adjusted dentent cable. however I'm pretty sure that I've burned up one of the clutch packs, so I'm going to go ahead and rebuild it. I'll let everybody know how it goes.
