i have the 700 in a 86 chevy 1/2 ton i was planning to rip out the 305 n swap it with a 350 with around 400 hp would the tranny hold or should i use thetranny thats comming with the engine if the tranny is compatible???

Leave your trans, keep the other for a spare if the current one ever goes on you.

its out of an 78 vette so would my tranny bolt up nicely ? n i hear i need to also check the harnes... would the 86 harnest b ok ?

Your trans should bolt up to the 78 engine with no issues. The harness don't matter, because you are not changing anything on YOUR trans. Just be sure to set up the TV cable correctly. You may have to put your carb on the 350 in order to hook up this cable.

well i'm gonna b gutting the tranny n rebuilding the 700r4 with inner guts that can handle 600horse

? what tail shaft length is on the vett trans 3"or 6" I do not think they had the 9" on vetts. Because the truck trans I believe are 6" tail shaft. So if it a chev TH350 Trans it will bolt up. But if the tail shaft is not the same, then you will have to shorten or lengthen the drive shaft. To hook up properly.
