84 Cab removal, does the fuel tank come out first?

I'm starting with the cab removal on my 84 4X4 first, I got four of the six bolts soaking in Aerokroil but I don't even see the other two on the driver side front because of the big honkin 20 gallon fuel tank. But I'm getting to the point where I don't think there are any more under the fuel tank?

My question is this, do I need to remove the fuel tank first to get to the other two cab bolts? If there are indeed more under it? I'm going to move more crap out of the way so I can get my big head into places where I can see better. Even so I think I'm beating a dead horse looking for bolts that either may or may not exist?

And my other question would be for those who have done this before, just exactly what would be the easiest way to remove the fuel tank? I did get the plastic shield out of the way so I could see the two straps holding the fuel tank, but naturally I didn't see the bolts to remove them (they look like they're under the cab?)

I do have the bed just sitting on the truck right now, and if memory serves me correct I think I remember being able to get to one of these straps this way?

Knowing during the assembly of the truck when it was being built I know without a doubt either the cab was installed before the fuel tank, or the tank installed before the cab. What kills me right now is unless they had a fine time getting their hands in such a small place beside the truck cab installing and tightening those bolts that hold the tank straps, I'm real curious how they did it without bringing the assembly line to a crawl?

I've done all types of restoration on all types of vehicles before, but unless I'm missing something I ain't quite figured it out as of yet (that and I don't have a complete Chevy GMC Manual, but I soon will).

About the only thing I'm seeing is 4 bolts holding the cab on with two holding the front radiator support on. Unless I don't see them I don't think there are any more?

Just getting the rust eze in there is a pain, more of a hit or miss deal it looks like right now. The last time I did something like this was on a 50 Chevy truck I mounted on a Blazer 4X4 running gear where I cared less about breaking the bolts off in the nuts. I made my own supports and had enough room where I through bolted everything. I'm trying patiently not to bust up these nuts or bolts.

If I'm mistaking about the number of hold down bolts, please let me know. I'm going to keep at it and hopefully I don't find any surprises.

That right four bolt on the Cab and two on the radiator support.

I know this old post.
I was going throw this. And thought I would state the other stuff that taken for granted, and some time forgotten or missed by people. As stuff that has to come off. All the grounds to the fire wall, heater hoses the Power wires on engine junction block the fuse block, the steering shaft the brake lines. And or the master/ booster if you not leaving it on the cab throttle cable antenna cable if in the fender, hood release you have the in the cab. now it easier to take the hood hinges,inner fenders & fenders off first before the cab. If take it to a bare cab easier lighter. unhook un clip wires from fire wall, unhook distributor. I always easier when the rad support engine out makes more room to move the cab off and around so all the wiring has to be un clipped off the rad support grounds rad. Oh some time the ground for the fuel sending unit on the cap brace or the frame. If your new to this stuff. Take a good look at stuff take pic's. Take your time think about it. That will be your best help. If you have trouble then ask check forums most time some one will help.
