This is the way I did most all my Coolers 73-87 on large 7" round head lights Support, Dual Head Lights Support 84-87. Ever since I did my first one it was good for about all most two years got a cut in it. Then after that I all ways put the heater hose this.
Trans Cooler Routing. There is a Factory Hole on the dual Head light rad support just to left of the high beam light I took a heater hose 6 or 7 " cut it down the center on one side put a half cut one side not all the way to the 1/2 way mark just so it folds over both side of the sharp steel.

This can be bad running the hose on the top like this the rad support will cut throw the soft rubber. As I said I use the bottom hole and use the heater hose cut trick and works well for both hoses to run throw it. I seen a few car /trucks at the track that have lost a trans line to the sharp Rad Support edges doing this way.
