Nice add on to the box wood rack. I think you have a very good deal if that what it looks like for the stuff you put in. How ever most of that stuff is mostly tune up stuff. For the age that really not to bad I would check the rocker to make sure there not to wearing ok and a just them. Maybe check the compression to make sure the heads are not leaking at the valves seals or guides. IF it is you want to nip it in the but sooner then later. keep the work up and pic's coming.

Thank you for noticing. There does not seem to be much traffic here. I keep the truck in the garage but when I do take it for a drive, I usually get some comment from a truck lover saying that they like my truck. I recently replaced the radiator because I could not get it to stop leaking. I purchased new tires for the truck which cost almost $1000 because it was a special order for those 16.5's. It rides out so much better. Some day I would love to get the body worked over but money is so tight as I am a dis-abled vet on a low fixed income. I took the truck to Menard's about 25 miles away and purchased some sheets of OSB and they just slid right into the bed like a piece of cake. I am surprised that the bed is intact with no holes from dry rot. I am a proud owner of a super automobile.

Well it has been some time since I have said anything or posted on this site. I just wanted to update a little. I had an old Oldsmobile and I took the exhaust and muffler off before taking to junk yard. The 95 Olds exhaust was not a direct fit for my truck but after some cuts and fitting, I managed to get myself some back-pressure, that helps with fuel savings and that awfully loud noise. I drove for about 150 mile trip the other day and used about $40 in fuel @ about $2.50/gal. using about 15 gallons of gas. So I figure around 10mpg which is probably normal as to be expected. Well thanks guys take care out there and good trucking! Boiler-Up!

Good to hear you made use of the muffler for the truck. Maybe just a light tune up, you would have to run a one of the free cad's program. That you input your tires size, gear, trans, motor carb size, weight to give a idea.
I have a list for 84 year if you truck is close to one of the set up give you a idea, if it off or need tune up tire change.

Thanks for the comment and the info. After looking at the list you provided; I see that my expected MPG is right on. I usually drive my 2014 Impala but occasionally will need a truck. I have antique plates on my truck; should I not be using it to haul things? I still need to start and move my truck from time to time to keep things in working order, Right? Hey Pontiac1976 I need to be able to understand what you are saying, I needed to re-read your post three times before I understood some of what you said.

Glad to hear your enjoying the truck & other like seeing it too. Yes I'm sorry I was in a rush trying to keep it short had to head out to pick some one up. The board does have lots of info & tips. Well that what a truck should be for hauling stuff can get in the car. I'm not sure what antique plates rules are as long as you don't make claims do not drive more then yearly alloted miles they say, and as long as your not doing it regular as job. I don,t think they say anything.
Do try to keep working on the truck keep us informed.
