Currently I run Edelbrock shorty headers on my stock crate engine. I'm growing tired of dealing with the limited access to the plugs, can't check compression, etc. The rest of the exhaust system is also in need of an upgrade so I want to do this all at once for obvious reasons. What set of headers do you all recommend that will solve all these issues? OR should I go back to stock manifolds? (not my favorite idea!)

I've had good luck with Flowtech long-tube headers. I have two sets on two different vehicles. Both are full length with 3" collectors and metallic ceramic coating.
Let me tell ya', you absolutely can't go wrong with the metallic ceramic coating on any brand header. Makes it look amazing and it actually lasts.
I bought both sets from local Advance Auto Parts. They're always having some sort of special on their online sales. Bought this second set of headers just recently and saved about $50 ordering online with one of their savings things. Plus, shipping to your house is free with orders over a certain amount or is free if shipped to the store.
However, as texasredneck said, there is one spark plug that's hard to get to. I believe it's on the passenger side and that it's cylinder number 5. I think this will be the case with any kinda' header, though.
